SSQA Meeting
September 28 & 29, 2001 ~ New Port Richey

September 28 and 29, 2001 was a fun time for 70 ladies (representing 12 guilds) at the Ramada Inn in New Port Richey for the SSQA Board and General Meeting. A delicious hot meal at lunch time after 3 hours of "grueling" classes included door prizes, and 27 celebrity autographs on fabric, matted, and auctioned off for a total of $224 donated to SSQA.

After election of officers and short business meeting, June Colburn gave a history and technique lecture on Bali Batiks.  Ms.Colburn, who is an International/National teacher, taught the Halloween Batik cat at the morning session and the lecture was the technique and development of Batik fabrics.  She had several examples and all were different and certainly a most informative and pleasurable afternoon. 

Everyone had a wonderful, enlightening time and we will all see each other in April, 2002 when Creative Quilters of Lecanto will be the hostess.
